Gamino’s is the perfect upholstery shop for people looking for an easy, high quality experience. I’m not certain if they’re the cheapest or the best, but they make the stressful process of surrendering your vintage furniture a breeze. Like many Los Angelenos, I purchase midcentury furniture on Etsy and eBay. When it arrives via Greyhound from Utah, it’s several hundred dollars cheaper than the vintage shops in LA. However, it usually has scars, scuffs and dated upholstery. Gamino will send their van to your house and schlep your pieces away on the same day. The shop is filled with fabric samples you can sort through in about 30 minutes. They can fix chips, dents, creaks and discolorations. Simple. I’ve sent three projects to Gamino, gratefully delivered to my place in Los Feliz from Burbank. I don’t like thinking about furniture, but I love a great space. At Gamino, you can hand over the wheel and get back to your life.
